4 Days 3 Nights (4D3N) Travel Itinerary in Siem Reap, Cambodia

There are dozens of temple sites in the Angkor Archaeological Park and other parts of Siem Reap, which offer many benefits to visitors. If you have 4D3N in Siem Reap, the following recommended itinerary which i done for myself will help you make the most of your trip to Angkor.
WEATHER - When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
The best time to go is
during the cooler months from December to February. Siem Reap can be enjoyed
all year round but keep the following considerations in mind: The hottest
months are April and May with temperatures topping 38°C (100°F). Meanwhile, September
is the wettest month. This month should be avoided if you don't like too much
rain. However, we
found December is kinda hot but morning is perfectly cooling.
FLIGHT - How to get to Siem Reap ?
Touchdown at Siem
Reap-Angkor International Airport (REP), the primary gateway to the city and
the Angkor temples. Siem Reap is also popularly reached overland from Thailand,
Vietnam, Laos & Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. From Kuala
Lumpur, direct flights to Siem Reap are operated by AirAsia & Malaysia
Airlines. Travel time by air is 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Additional Info :Travel time by air is 2 hours and 10 minutes. The minimum
cost approximately at RM350.

MOBILE CONNECTION - How to get mobile internet in Siem Reap?
Cambodia local SIM card — Available for purchase at the
airport arrival area. A Cellcard under Metfone is highly recommended with unlimited data access for 7 days at USD 3.
TRANSPORTATION – How to get into Town / Hotel from Airports?
The 8 kilometer ride from
Siem Reap International Airport to Siem Reap city center takes around 20
minutes.
Getting transport from/to
the airport is easy. You can either go by taxi, tuktuk, motodop, shuttle/van
taxi, or private car cost approximately from USD1 – USD10. Whether you are
traveling solo or with someone else, make a habit of asking. Check with the
hotel you book for your stays whether they do free of charge pick up airport or
if you may check with the tuk tuk if you have made a tour arrangement upon
arrival. So it is another way to save your money.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION – Where to stay ?
When booking for a hotel
in Siem Reap, staying near Pub Street and Old Market is the BEST CHOICE as
everything you want is here – restaurants, shopping malls and its near the
river area and you can find most of the budget hotels and backpackers hotels.
If you can afford for it,
i highly recommended Sarai Resort, a 5 stars hotel. The rooms are
elegantly-furnished featuring traditional Khmer-style decor. Some units are
fitted with an outdoor terrace. You may book through their website at https://www.sarairesort.com/ or booking.com.
We are lucky that at last
minutes manage to find a newly estabilished hotel in February,2018. And this is a budget wise
hotel you may consider – check it out https://naturalhouse-sr.com/
ANGKOR WAT - What you need to know ?
How to get to Angkor Wat?
Located 7 kilometers or a
20-minute drive from Siem Reap city center, Angkor Wat & other temples in
the ancient city can easily be reached on a guided tour, chartered transport
(tuk-tuk, motodop or car/taxi) or by bicycle.
Expect to spend more if
you want to: (1) include a sunrise trip; (2) extend to a full-day charter; (3)
visit farther temples. You can arrange a tuk-tuk for hire with your hotel / you
can find tuk-tuk along Pub Street. Make a bargain with tuk tuk might save you
some costs.
What you need to know ?
the Angkor Archaeological
Park itself have the Small and Grand Circuit routes. The small circuit starts
at the main temple Angkor Wat and the large circuit follows the small one. On
both circular paths the regular direction is clockwise. You can also download
the map from https://www.visit-angkor.org/project/angkor-map/
How much is the entrance fee ?
The Angkor Pass costs USD
37 for a 1-day ticket, USD 62 for a 3-day ticket & USD 72 for a 7-day
ticket. The tickets allow entry to all temples in the Angkor Archaeological
Park including temples in the Small Circuit, Big/Grand Circuit except the
following attractions need to pay extra entrance fee : -

Which clothes should I wear when visiting the Angkor temples?
Very simple: shoulders and
knees must be covered. This applies equally to women and men. It may be that on
the extensive terrain some people don’t pay so much attention to it. But I
wouldn’t rely on that – the disappointment is immense if you are not allowed to
enter a temple because of unsuitable clothing. With a normal T-shirt and
calf-length trousers you are definitely on the safe side.
